Historical Sites & Landmarks

Ride bikes on The Milwaukee Road and check out the train tressels and a long tunnel built in 1906.

Then, visit the Savenac Bunkhouse located in the historic Savenac Tree Nursery, founded in 1907. Visit the visitor center and learn about the history. You can also view memorials and interpretive trails on the property.


Fish Creek State Park provides boating, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The park covers over 5,600 acres of the gorgeous scenery of mountain peaks and emerald creeks.

 The Sanctuary Campground is a multi-purpose off-grid campground featuring regular campsites, cabin rentals, group campgrounds, and bike camps. Amenities include restrooms, showers, trails, ATV roads, volleyball, and badminton courts.

Sloway Campground is near the Clark Fork River and offers a base camp for resting after a long day on the water. The site includes restrooms, water, picnic tables, fire rings, horseshoe pits, a sandbox, and a boat ramp.

Trout Creek Campground is a forested campground offering rustic and woodsy scenery. The sites are best for tent camping and travel trailers. You will find restrooms, water, picnic tables, and fire rings. Groceries and other services are within a few miles.


Superior Vista Trail is a moderately challenging 2-mile hike covering steep switchbacks with incredible views of Superior. It’s an excellent daily workout in nature, perfect for those wanting to get exercise while visiting.

Cascade Falls is an easy 3-mile out and back hike near Paradise. The scenery is lush with wildflowers dotting your path. Be sure to bring your camera! Make your way gradually up the mountain until you get to the waterfalls.

Bonanza Lakes is a moderately challenging, almost 5-mile hike (out and back). It is a relatively secluded trail and perfect for warm summer days. The path is overgrown, so you should wear pants and long sleeves if possible.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.


Bid Eddy is an access site used for boating and fishing. Float down the river and soak up the Montana sun. Also, check out Dry Creek fishing access for a similar experience.

Consider Clark Fork Trout & Tackle and hire an experienced fishing guide who knows the local Montana waters and will guarantee a good trip.
