Pinesdale, Montana, is a small town in Ravalli County nestled in the Bitterroot Valley, about 45 miles from Missoula.

Chosen for its isolation, fundamentalist Mormons settled in Pinesdale in the 1960s. As of 2020, only a little over 800 live in this secluded community.

The Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness surrounds this section of land with an average temperature of 59° Fahrenheit. The coldest months of the year are December and January, with a high of around 35° and the warmest months are July and August with highs around 85°.

Blodgett Campground consists of two campgrounds with five overall campsites. This popular campsite fills up fast, but you can’t beat the views! The campground provides picnic tables, fire pits, and a vault toilet.
