When Was the Festival Established?
The festival first began in 2010 and SLAM (which stands for Support Local Artists and Musicians) is thus now proudly into its 13th year of fun and cultural arts.
The local theme is extended to its fullest and to this day every artist and participant at Summer SLAM is Montana-based, right down to the food vendors.
What Kind of Activities and Entertainment are Featured?
Definitely, the main driving force behind the event is the showcasing of local and regional artists’ skills.
Artists from across the state get involved in the Artist Demonstration Tent which features work and exhibits along the lines of indigenous art, embroidery, mosaics, pottery and ceramics, textiles, and much more.
On top of that, there are usually a few other interesting touches like the libations garden.
The garden is a particularly attractive feature of the festival for many attendees and is the place where refreshing alcoholic beverages can be found. Step into the garden and you’ll surely be inspired to find something that hits the spot, regardless of usual preferences.
SLAM is also proud to host the exclusive serving of delicious beers from a local craft brewery like Bozeman Brewing. Wine also flows on tap from BLEND winery in Bozeman.
