Montana State Parks

There are currently 55 State Parks in Montana and a number of recreation areas, spread out across 28 different counties. The vast majority of the parks can be accessed by the general public, including a handful of abandoned ghost towns.

The largest state park is Makoshika State Park, which covers over 11,000 acres (4,708 ha), along with the popular ones such as Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, Flathead Lake State Park, and Bannack State Park to name just a few.
